The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) offers a diverse range of future-ready programs that extend beyond traditional electronics. Students gain strong practical exposure to emerging technologies such as VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, IoT, 5G Communications, Signal Processing, AI in Electronics, and Smart Sensors. Industry- collaborated training in NPTEL and Keysight equip students with real-world engineering skills.
PCB Design Lab
The PCB Design Lab enables students to convert electronic circuit concepts into working hardware. It provides training in schematic design, multilayer routing, component placement, and signal integrity analysis using industry-standard tools. Students also gain experience in PCB fabrication and testing for product development.
Computational Mathematics Lab
This lab focuses on applying mathematical concepts to engineering solutions using computational tools. Students explore numerical methods, matrix operations, transforms, and algorithm development, strengthening their analytical skills for communication and signal processing applications.
This lab provides hands-on experience in programming and interfacing microcontrollers and RISC-based processors. Students work with memory modules, sensors, displays, motors, and wireless interfaces to develop real-time embedded systems, enhancing their practical understanding of hardware-software integration.
CMOS VLSI Design Lab
The lab emphasizes CMOS-based digital and analog IC design using EDA tools. Students learn transistor-level modelling, circuit layout, logic synthesis, and physical verification. It prepares them for careers in semiconductor technology, chip fabrication, and ASIC design.
IoT Architecture & Protocol Lab
This lab introduces IoT communication technologies, protocols, and cloud connectivity. Students design applications involving smart sensing, networking, and remote monitoring using Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), Constrained Application Protocol (COAP), Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRa WAN), and Wi-Fi systems. It strengthens skills in end-to-end IoT product development.
Smart Sensors & Protocol Lab
This lab focuses on sensor technologies, interfacing protocols, and data acquisition systems. Students learn practical integration of environmental, industrial, and biomedical sensors along with serial protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN, enabling them to build intelligent measurement systems
Computational Electromagnetics & Antenna Lab
Students analyse electromagnetic wave propagation and antenna performance using simulation tools like HFSS and CST. The lab supports design and testing of antennas, RF components, and microwave systems suitable for satellite, 5G, and radar communication applications.
